Need help managing your Blisters?
The blight of walkers, runners, tennis and netball, in fact at some stage pretty much everyone will have suffered a blister. Our podiatrists can assess and treat your feet, look for high load areas and provide knowledge on preventative measures, this often includes a gait assessment, we might ask you to bring in a video of you playing sport. They’ll check and provide advice on your footwear and socks. They’ll also show you taping techniques and discuss products you should and maybe some you shouldn’t use. Don’t let a blister ruin your experience.
Ways to Help Prevent Blisters
Shoes: Do they feet properly, are they the correct shoe for the sport
Lacing: Different styles of lacing can help
Socks: Different materials can reduce friction, there are toeless socks and socks with individual toes for protection.
Tapping/padding: Hyperfix, Rocktape, sports tape. These can all be used to prevent blisters, by reducing friction and skin movement at the ‘hot spot’.
Blister products such as Compeed and silicone toe socks can also help.

If you are attending for a biomechanical assessment (injury review), please bring or wear shorts, bring the shoes you wear the most or fit your orthotics into.
Please also bring any current xrays/scans etc.
No, a referral is not necessary to come and see us.
If you have a chronic condition, such as diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis , then you may be eligible for an allied health medicare referral from your GP. Your eligibility is determined by your doctor and they can allocate you up to five visits for allied health services per calendar year. Medicare will subsidise your visit and provide a rebate of $53.80.
Clients who have a Department of Veterans’ Gold Card, who wish to see us using their Gold Card require a D904 referral from their GP.
All treatments are to be paid for on the day. We except cash, cheque and card. Eftpos and HICAPS are available.
